In from the printers last week, the christmas card I designed for Preschool. Already sold 22 only 18 left, may have to get more printed! £1 each with 70p going straight to Netherfield preschool.

pretty things

When I get something new that I really love I find it hard to use/wear it straight away. The first time needs to be special. So it's not unusual for a gift or a favourite purchase to sit in a shelf or in a bag or in a cupboard until I settle in to owning something that I like so much. This is all true of a tray I got for my birthday. I have just used it for the first time to carry a cup if tea and a mince pie to my work desk. I really really love it and I love that pretty things give me so much pleasure! Thank you mum and granny & grandad for giving it to me xxx.

Friday 21 November 2014

I seem to have got out of the habit of writing this, there just never seems to be the time and I have realised that words are not really my forte. It takes me such a long time to think about what to write and then get it down in some comprehensive way that I just wimp out and leave it until tomorrow! In response to this recognition of my failing I've decided just to write some words down and post them and stop worrying so much. So I've been doing a lot of thinking about christmas and all the things I'd like to make, buy, host etc and not a whole lot of action... Having said that here's a few things that I have made recently...

Beautiful little pine cones collected from Battle woods coated in fine glitter and strung onto vintage embroidery thread from my grandma....

Chocolate roll reindeers for the winter fair at school (hope they'll survive the car journey later)...

And a very simple top, using 1960's fur coat lining fabric from Wayward and some hand stitching.

And now my time is up, need to take Jumble round the block before heading to school to help set up the fair, oh the glamour!!

Ive missed a week or two, here is a quick catch up.

Half term, halloween, a couple of birthdays...

Making slippers and peg dolls...

Walking in the wind at low tide, stinging cheeks and ringing ears...
And buying Cherry shiney shoes!...
