A very pleasant couple of days spent at Great Park farm. 'Hand Made in the yurt' went very well, lots of lovely people, beautiful surroundings even a few sales! Am hoping to set up something regular there from September. Thanks to everyone that came and everyone who helped me get things ready, especially the wonderful (and very talented jeweller!) Veronique Pullen.

I just had to give myself a time out, half way through bedtime. I came down and had a quick read of fox's lane blog, a post about slow living. It was just the deep breath that i needed to remind me that it doesn't matter if cherry wears the denim shorts a friend gave her today to bed. And its kinda fun to be completely filthy all the time when you're 7 and getting grumpy with everyone at the end of the day is horrible. So whilst I still made them brush their teeth and wash their hands I did it slowly and with a smile and read 2 books instead of 1 and feel so much better for it. Slow down, breath deep and smile.....

Been busy sewing for the craft sale in the yurt at great park farm this weekend. I only decided to do it a couple of weeks ago, so it's been a bit of a rush, but good to have a focus. I must get some photos of them on models, there's only so much you can do, display wise, with some string and wooden pegs!

sitting in the car in the rain, cherry and jumble asleep, good thinking time...

a weekend all together..not doing too much, just being together

3 small oil pastel illustrations for 'hand made in the yurt'.

This week I have been...

enjoying the buddleja,

sewing huck finn pants...and musing on how even when they're scrapping and bickering our family all wants to be in very close proximity to one another. I regularly look up to realise that everyone has gathered around me in our bedroom, all I'm doing is putting the washing away but we just all seem to gravitate towards each other. Even the cat and the dog can always be found in the same room (sometimes curled on the sofa other times growling and scratching!). It feels nice to know that we all enjoy being together, moving alongside one another.
